Job Title: Quality Inspector-CMM Programmer 

Job Summary

Responsible for executing detailed inspections per the quality plan while keeping open and frequent communication with production personnel and the quality manager

Reports To: Quality Manager

Essential Functions

  1. Follows quality plan by ensuring that proper gages are calibrated and in house
  2. Accurately inspects first article, in process, returns from suppliers and final parts according to quality plan, inspection reports, customer specifications and blueprints
  3. Ensures consistency and accuracy by verifying that correct gages are being used by operators and set up
  4. Updates and completes inspection reports
  5. Abides by the work orders by ensuring that all pervious sequences have been completed and signed off, including the inspection sequence and expedite the parts to the following operation
  6. Works closely with shop management to ensure consistency and the minimization of rejected parts
  7. Abides by safety procedures
  8. Works conscientiously to maintain and obey Frey & Weiss's quality policies, objectives, procedures and Quality Management System to strive towards continuous improvement

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Ability to read and write
  • Strong understanding of dimensions
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Understanding of gages and measurement techniques
  • Understanding and experience in how to operate a CMM Machine
  • Computer skills with Data Entry, Excel, Word documents experience

Physical and Visual Demands

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • If corrective glasses are required, they must be worn at all times

Environmental Factors

None

Training and Experience

  • 3 years' experience in a mechanical inspection environment
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Zeiss CMM Experience with programming of 1+ years on Calypso software
